The winners of the XXVI Compasso d’Oro Award were announced by a jury chaired by Denis Santachiara and composed by Luca Bressan, Virginio Briatore, Jin Kuramoto, Päivi Tahkokallio. The award-winning projects will be exhibited until September 16, 2020 within the exhibition “Taking Root”, open to the public and free of charge, in the brand new spaces of the ADI Design Museum in Via Ceresio 7, near the Monumental Cemetery of Milan. In addition to the 18 Compasso d’Oro Awards, there are 9 Compasso d’Oro Career Awards, 3 International Compasso d’Oro Career Awards and, for the first time this year following a proposal by Beppe Finessi, curator of the ADI Design Museum, also the Products Compasso d’Oro Career Award, awarded to objects that were successful over time: the Arco by Castiglioni brothers produced by Flos (1962), the Nahalie bed by Vico Magistretti produced by Flou (1978) and the Sacco produced by Zanotta and designed by Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini and Franco Teodoro in 1968. Finally, the well-known Targa Giovani assigned to three emerging designers and the Honourable Mentions. The Compasso d’Oro Career Award was assigned to Rossella Bertolazzi, Gilda Bojardi, Marco Ferreri, Carlo Forcolini, Carlo Molteni, Piero Molteni, Anty Pansera, Vanni Pasca Raymondi, Eugenio Perazza and Nanda Vigo. Among the international winners are Emilio Ambasz, Nasir Kassamali, Nargis Kassamali and Jasper Morrison.
