Bob is a mini-dishwasher that's also an anti Covid-19 sterilizer

The ultra-compact freestanding appliance can sit easily on a kitchen countertop, comes in a variety of joyful colors, and it can be used to sterilize any household object, including surgical masks.

At IFA Next, a spin-off exhibition of IFA 2020 for startups and young innovative companies, we’ve seen some of the most interesting gadget that the Special Edition of the tech trade show had to offer. Among them was Bob, a cute compact dishwasher designed by Paris-based startup Daan Tech. It caught our attention both for its bold and wide color range, and for its compact size: it can fit basically any kitchen top as a freestanding appliance, but its portability (10,9 Kg, two handles to carry it around) makes it a perfect fit for small offices, camper vans, boats or secondary homes.

Water can be supplied directly through a nozzle, like a regular dishwasher, but Bob also comes with a refillable tank. It’s compatibile with any regular dishwasher soap, but for best results Daan Tech will offer special cleaning cartridges that won’t cost too much and would assure the best possible cleanliness level after each cycle.
Bob can be ordered in many colors and can be equipped with a UV-C light, thus enabling a waterless sterilizing cycle that can disinfect face masks, smartphones and any other household item. The UV-C sterilizer is a last-minute add-on that’s been developed by Daan Tech in the last few months to respond to the needs of our pandemic new normal.
Bob is available for preorder. The dishwasher costs £299,90, while the UV-C module will set you back an extra 33£.
