The fact that imm cologne is not a fair where you would expect great news is a matter of fact. In January, players present new designs to the German market which in April – at Milan Furniture Fair – were still prototypes. Despite the moderate expectations and some evident absence among the exhibitors, this year we found some interesting novelties: from the large outdoor collection presented by Cassina, to the new undyed colours of the Blissed carpets designed by Mae Engelgeer for cc-tapis; from the new hanging lamp by Ingo Maurer – the first presented by the studio since the death of the German master – to the D8P chair produced by Tecta, the German brand that is re-editing some Bauhaus classics.
