Fluid Cube and City Snake are two types of outdoor furniture for public and educational spaces, designed by Hello Wood – both a design studio and an educational platform for experimentation, started in 2010 as an art camp and become over the years a hub for architects and a festival involving more than 20 universities. Providing renewable energy to users, the sculptures are made of wood and aim to involve the community defining new public spaces that invite people to participation. Fluid Cube is a wood block offering an almost-private space in the urban context: curved entrances and cuts on the surfaces invite people to enter and sit, protected by a solar-celled and glazed roof. City Snake is a wooden, curving bench that can be adapted to the city’s needs thanks to its modularity and provided with solar panels. Both of them constitute sustainable installations with USB sockets and WiFi connection included. Four Hungarian educational institutions already host these works.
