A hydrospinning center that looks more like a club, with leafy wallpapers, white square tiles and orchid-colored neon lamps. This is Waterbeat Society, located in the heart of Milan and designed by Nomade, an architecture and interior design studio founded in 2010 by Selina Bertola. The gym’s layout consists of two levels, a lower floor with waiting room, changing rooms for men and women and a swimming pool with 13 bikes, and a ground floor with reception, waiting room and three massage cabins inside three velvet cocoons. Among aqua-green and light blue walls and natural cement stucco finishes, the space is inspired by Californian interiors. The waiting room on the lower floor looks more like a living room-veranda with contrasting elements such as a pink pop neon lamp and wicker poufs matched with Nordic outdoor armchairs. A long white and luminous corridor offers a chromatic pause between the waiting room and the changing rooms, whose showers and niches reflect the same reception desk’s white tiles with coloured joints.
