Refik Anadol, the award-winning Turkish artist is hosted at the “Negative Space“ exhibition curated by Peter Weibel at ZKM, Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, with his audiovisual work Infinity-Room. The exhibition’s central theme is how contemporary artists are able to change the vision and perception of sculpture nowadays. Anadol’s work leads to entering a three-dimensional liquid space that goes beyond the boundaries of reality through a combination of mirrors and projections.

The artist thus creates a parallel three-dimensional space that acts as a means of escape towards a new dimension allowing visitors to be able to momentarily perceive themselves and the world around. Therefore an invitation to the audience to define the internal and external functionalities of architectural elements in a “post-digital” context where art, science and technology dialogue together.
