From June 6 to 9 2019, Warsaw will host the 13th edition of the European Design Festival, an international traveling event dedicated to graphic design. Three days of meetups, masterclasses, exhibitions, workshops and film screenings will be held to make the public aware of the best Polish and European innovations and creativity. The festival is divided into several events with novelties and evergreens: graphic tours to discover the main graphic design studios in Warsaw; film screenings on this topic including Helvetica, the independent documentary made in 2007 by Gary Hustwit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the typeface’s introduction; a series of breakfasts offered by Bar Studio and dj nights at Cafè Kulturalna to get in touch with the most experienced graphic designers in an informal context.

There will be also workshops on calligraphy, lettering, collage, creative coding, animation and design safari. The annual Element Talks Conference hosted by the multifunctional and post-industrial complex Minska 65, and finally two competitions with a final gala evening, the European Design Awards and the Polish Graphic Design Awards, both aimed at emerging and brand new talents.
