
Marble matters– exploring Carrara’s legacy
Sixteen young international architects took part in two intensive training days in Carrara, organized by FUM Academy and YACademy, featuring visits to the marble quarries and a design workshop focused on the use of the material.

Announced 30 finalist artists of the Loewe Prize 2018. The works of the finalists, both emerging artists and well-established names, are exhibited at the Design Museum in London from May 4 to June 17, 2018. “The works we have selected show almost a manipulation alchemical of the potential of every medium”, declares Anatxu Zabalbeascoa, president of the jury, and embraces a variety of techniques, means and methods of expression. The award, created by creative director Jonathan Anderson, aims to recognize the importance of craftsmanship in contemporary culture, giving visibility to designers whose vision is a point of reference for the future. Among the jury Ernest Gamperl, winner of the previous edition and Patricia Urquiola.
