In Miami Beach Prada goes Tropical Déco

Featuring Art Déco, Brazilian furniture and patterns from the Sixties, Prada’s showroom in Miami reflects the brand’s eccentric style.

Just in time for last year’s edition of Art Basel in Miami Beach, the newest Prada store opened in the Southern metropolitan center. Totaling 650 square meters, this new destination located in the heart of the city’s innovative Design District embodies the Italian fashion house’s new visual identity.

Inspired by the sensual, extravagant glitziness and tropical charm of Miami, the new Prada location is a work of art itself, featuring a vibrant, chic Art Deco aesthetic and innovative furnishings produced as unique pieces by leading Brazilian mid-century designers, including Joaquim Tenreiro.

Beyond the building’s strictly rectilinear façade influenced by 60s architecture, the interiors combine black and white chequered marble floors, mint-hued bas-relief walls featuring a foliage motif, and pristine white, slender ceiling beams. Prada’s new architectural and retail design concept, with its contrasts and contradictions, reflects the brand’s eccentric contemporary style and yet is a celebration of an intimate, comfortable and familiar environment.
