“The circus is something that goes beyond everyday life – says the designer – the richness and wonder before our eyes, what we hear and capture with our senses, stays with us. It is a very unique feeling of magic and we wanted to celebrate it in an imaginative collection”.

Marcel Wanders has created five characters, each one has its own distinct personality and function.“The circus is filled with wonderful personas – says Gabriele Chiave, Creative Director at Marcel Wanders Studio – that all play their small part in the spectacle. Each character in this iconic series surprises with its own personality and specific historical carnival relevance to be treasured.

These five very precious table sculptures can be collected and handed down from generation to generation as a wholly original family heirloom. The methods used to produce these objects, a veritable feat of manufacturing virtuosity, occupy an area somewhere between industrial production and craftsmanship. This elaborate process shows off one of Alessi’s most prized qualities – the ability to represent an efficient and contemporary model of research and design in the context of the Applied Arts.
