Over two hundred names involved from twelve different countries: from the well known (Greg Lynn, Ross Lovegrove, Issey Miyake, Philippe Starck and Hussein Chalayan) to younger emerging talent.
The title of the exhibition comes from a slogan coined by the father of American functionalist architecture Philip Johnson – who has also written an introduction in the catalogue – for the exhibition “Machine Art” held at MoMA in 1934.
To coincide with the event three months of conferences are to be held by a series of well known personalities from art and design Robert A. M. Stern (13 February), John Pawson (27 February), Paola Antonelli (6 March), Mark Gonzales (7 March), Murray Moss (12 March), Jan Kaplicky (10 April), Hussein Chalayan (24 April), Fabian Marcaccio and Sachico Kodama (26 April) e Ross Lovegrove and Greg Lynn (in May).
