Zumtobel's technological light

Tecton and Mellow Light IV are the two recent proposals by Zumtobel, the German company that specializes in the study of illuminating equipment. The first is a system of continuous-line lighting developed with Grimshaw & Partners architects, who consider illumination part of their creative work. Tecton is an aesthetic system, flexible and above all ready for the most modern technologies of automation: the first system that integrates all electricity and data cable, and in this way is ready for any technical illumination solution with electronic command from light management to emergency lighting. Mellow Light IV is the brainchild of the designers of Studio & Partners whose intention is to create buildings where people live and work under stimulating lights, oriented to nature. The new generation of Mellow Light, the IV version, represents an ulterior innovative step towards light as an experience of nature, a light made of color and dynamics. It is based upon a system of colors: the basic version has white backlighting, while for more demanding conditions there is a model with constant backlighting of blue, yellow or green tonality. The apparatus has been reduced to minimal proportions with lateral elements appearing almost insubstantial, the better to highlight the surroundings and its architectural volume.
