Thirteen designers were invited to express themselves around an intriguing and contemporary theme: the “clandestino” (illegal immigrant), to think about men and women living in this condition and ask how they manage to survive amongst us. A stimulating issue with which young international designers in the Opos design spirit have put themselves to the test. The result is a series of interpretations different both by nature and intent. Curro Claret Marti for example proposes a videogame which imitates the arrival of a non European in a Western country. Spanish designer Martín Ruiz de Azúa instead proposes a design for a double inflatable cushion, a symbolic object which forms an imaginary substitute to the symbol of the Red Cross for humanitarian aid. A sign which reminds us that the problem starts at home, a kind of logo to use for a series of designs such as: flags, t-shirts, interactive pillows, all purpose plates.
