Giorgio Armani

It is the official consacration of the genius of Italian High Fashion designer. The exhibit that opened two weeks ago at the New York’s museum acknowledges, in fact, to Armani, his stature and icon of the high fashion, next to personalities of the calibre of Chanel and Yves Sain Laurent. The main feature of the exhibition are the over 300 dresses arranged by themes, which allows the understanding of how Armani has radically changed the laws of the high fashion and contributed to create that vision of “timeless” of the modern dress. In fact, one goes from a group of dresses that emphasize the impact that Armani’s style has had on the modern look, a bit androgynoid, to another which examines the influence on his style of the north African cultures. The “ Story” of his dresses is completed by drawings, photographs and video presentation of historic material: a documentary of the designer’s work in the realization’s phase to the finished product. The “ Dramaturgyc hand” of Robert Wilson makes all up sagely, transforming the whole museum in a spectacular surrounding where to experiment the thousands of faces of Armani creations.
