It hovered in Salinas Grandes in the area of Jujuy, Argentina. Fly with Aerocene Pacha is the huge flying sculpture by international artist Tomás Saraceno who has broken six world records. For the first time, a human has floated in the sky thanks to a balloon powered only by sun and air, without using fossil fuels, solar panels, batteries or helium.

The last project by Saraceno, between art, science and activism, has been launched after a study lasted twenty years, using only natural elements such as sun and air.

A tribute to the 33 indigenous communities of the Salinas Grandes region, which see their territory continuously eroded and polluted due to lithium mining. “Our landing here is one small step in the air, one giant leap for this planet and its climate”, explained the artist. The action has become a docufilm, visible until the 29th of February, 2020 at the art center CCK - Centro Cultural Kirchner in Buenos Aires.
