Dublin Gallery Weekend 2017: a delightful weekend dedicated to art

For the third edition of the Dublin Gallery Weekend, 34 museums, art galleries and artist-run spaces all over the city are opening their doors to art lovers.

Now in its third year, Dublin’s annual Gallery Weekend takes place on November 23–26 and is the perfect opportunity to discover the Irish capital’s vibrant visual art scene. Dublin City Gallery the Hugh Lane, the National Gallery of Ireland, but also Kerlin Gallery, Kevin Kavanagh, and Pallas Projects: 34 museums, art galleries and artist run spaces all over the city are opening their doors to arts professionals as well as contemporary art lovers. In addition to a wide ranging program of exhibitions, over 80 special events (all mainly free of charge) including exhibition openings, guided tours, artist and curator talks, concerts and more will take place over the weekend.

A few highlights: art and architecture book enthusiasts come together for Dublin Art Book Fair, which presents distinguished Irish and international specialist publishers; Rosalind Nashashibi's Turner Prize nominated 'Electrical Gaza’ is screened at Mother’s Tankstation on November 23-25 at 5:30 pm; on Thursday, November 24, IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art celebrates the opening of Rodney Graham: “That’s Not Me”; or the latest edition of Grayscale, The Waters Will Rise Slowly, an immersive installation that will transform Temple Bar Gallery + Studios into four floors of verdant greenery, light and music.
