Luna Park. Fantastical art in the park at Villa Manin
Filled with sculptures and installations by a group of artists, the historic park of Villa Manin has been transformed for the Venice biennale into a new kind of amusement park. A place for entertainment and discovery, curated by Francesco Bonami and Sarah Cosulich Canarutto, that involves the public in the theme of play. The artists intervene with their creations on the grass, along the paths, amongst the trees and plants, weaving their work into the natural landscape. For their part, the visitors can cross, inhabit and interact with the works in a wide variety of ways: coloured benches, enormous carnivorous plants, archery, giant versions of board games and camouflaged umbrellas accompany them on an unusual artistic and interactive journey. Work by A12, Petra Blaisse, Cliostraat, Alberto Garutti, Gabriel Orozco, Paola Pivi, Tobias Rehberger, Tomas Saraceno, Andreas Slominski, Monika Sosnowska, Rirkrit Tiravanija e Patrick Tuttofuoco.
