Six large sculptures – brightly painted or patinated bronze and aluminium – by one of the stars of pop art Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997) make in themselves an exhibition at the top of the spectacular roof garden of the Metropolitan: 900 square metres with a breathtaking view of Central Park and the New York skyline.

Carried out during the nineties, the six works include a group of “brushstroke” figures and a large house (House III). Each piece is a subtle homage or reference to a painting by Lichtenstein or work by some of the masters of modernism such as Brancusi and Picasso.
