Limit Architecture has designed a portable greenhouse

In the Portuguese city of Braga, the association that tends to a small "oasis" by managing an urban farm inspired this original device designed by the architecture studio Limit for the Festival Forma da Vizinhança. It is a small wheeled pavilion that functions both as a greenhouse for seed germination and as the hub of an itinerant outreach activity promoting ecological awareness and urban farming practices. The structure, which has not gone unnoticed on the streets, becomes — when stationary — a microarchitecture grafted into the urban fabric. It is defined by a vivid yellow tone that outlines the aluminium frame of eight modular units, enclosed by transparent polycarbonate panels, much like a greenhouse, and crowned by a curved roof that ensures efficient rainwater drainage. The modules can be disassembled and reconfigured according to need. Handwritten mottos on its surfaces read as a tribute to the practice of guerrilla gardening, the non-violent environmental movement that since the 1970s has cultivated neglected urban areas, often without permission.
