The Sista House designed by 2m2 Architects is a faceted, pointed brick volume that stands out within the chaotic landscape of the Korean capital.

Sista huouse is located in the Sinsu-dong district of Seoul, in an alleyway of only four meters wide, where the urban fabric is the result of the restrictive building regulations in terms of solar radiation together with the maximum exploitation of available living space. The house is a rental housing proposal for young women with six small units distributed over four floors, in which each unit differs from the other with unique characteristics: the house with one room, the house with two rooms, the house with terrace and the house on the top floor defined by the very steep imprint of the roof.

The ground floor of the building block is emptied and made walkable. Only the two reinforced concrete partitions that delimit the parking spaces and the central block of the common staircase with a rehearsal music room touch the ground, a community place where residents can interact  through the playing of music. The building is a concrete structure and is dressed with a brick skin, perforated at the stairwell, to let in light and air but protects the space from prying eyes. Ornament is avoided and the consistency of the material itself is revealed.

The rougher materials of the outer shell and the common parts are contrasted by the more comfortable and warm interior with oak floors and white walls. The windows are larger than those in conventional Seoul houses, dug into the volume even in the corners  and let in generous natural light; the internal positioning of the windows contributes to this image.
