Designed by List in Aarhus, Harbour Magnets are temporary installations in public space. They aim to reveal the specific qualities of each site in the Northern Harbour and the different stages of its ongoing transformation. The sites are chosen according to views, distances, scales, interrelations between piers and links between the city and harbour.

Harbour Magnets try with little means and using existing objects, to change peoples perception of sites, landscape and views in the harbour. They offer places where people can sit and contemplate views that they didn’t have access to or ignored beforehand. The three Magnets use scaffolding elements for structure and materials that can be found in the harbour (steel, netting, concrete...). Each of them offers a different size and kind of suspended seating from which the public can observe the surrounding landscape.
