The original structure was a house with three floors, the product of the varied and disharmonious history of the building's development. A single, coherently designed facade has unified the building since the beginning of the twentieth century.
The work has transformed the interior, emptying it and enlarging it over seven levels: a spiral staircase winds through a suspended block, its continual movement providing a complete overview of the house.
Lastly a space corresponding to a skylight on the terrace divides the building vertically, parallel to the side of the piazza and the garden, bringing natural light into the centre of the house. The simplicity of detail, the use of a limited range of all-natural materials, and essential furnishings focus attention on the space and the light. Massimo Adario
