Disegni di architettura. Cinque storie italiane
How best to describe five post-war Italian masters such as Carlo Aymonino, Guido Canella, Gabetti & Isola, Paolo Portoghesi and Aldo Rossi? The curators of the exhibition at the Fondazione Portaluppi – Luca Molinari, Tito Canella and Massimo Martignoni – had no doubts. This generation of architects saw the graphic sign as the cipher of a trend towards and research into form and modern space; it was the mark of complex reflections on the body of architecture and the city.
For this reason, the exhibition retracing the design and intellectual history of the five designers centres on as many sets of drawings, all original and drawn from personal archives or the DARC collection in Rome. The journey is completed with a number of videos and a selection of their writings. E.S.
