The latter half of the centenary year of Arne Jacobsen sees a last major retrospective at the Louisiana Museum in Copenhagen (from 30 August 2002 to 12 January 2003). On show an all round look at his creativity – architecture, design, landscaping, textile design, photography and watercolours. Nothing seems to be lacking in the varied experience of the Danish designer.
The exhibition is divided into three parts, from the historic context it then moves on to look at large scale building projects whilst in the last part contemporary designers – including SANAA, Gigon/Guyer and Dominique Perrault – offer their interpretation and critique of Jacobsen’s work.
