The exhibition begins unwinding at the most recent works, among them the competitions for the new urban installations in Shanghai, the stadiums in Morocco, the works just-finished or in course of completion in the Bicocca area of Milan (the Teatro degli Arcimboldi, the head office of the Pirelli Group...).
Among the most prominent interventions on a urban scale that the show documents, other than the Bicocca, are the huge interventions in the area of the ex-sugar factory of Cesena, the projects for the Milanese areas of Cadorna, Redaelli and Motta, the international competitions for London and Berlin (among them, the residences in Lützowstrasse which have been brought to realization), Aix-en-Provence, Strasbourg, Ukraine, etc.
The show, however, has not limited itself to interventions on a urban scale; the category of public space extends also to projects for institutional settings (as in the case of Ancona), museums (such as the Louvre and the Uffizi), cultural settings (such as the big Belém complex in Lisbon), and sports (such as the stadiums in Barcelona, Genoa and Nîmes). This public architecture is flanked by teaching and research sites (from the recent campuses of the University of Studies of Milano-Bicocca to the universities of Cosenza and Palermo, to the project for Florence, along with the important research centres of Portici, Rome, Milan…).
