Saving the TWA terminal at JFK airport

A group of architects represented by Philip Johnson handed in a petition last Tuesday at the Municipal Art Society to save the TWA Terminal at the Kennedy Airport of New York. This masterpiece was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1962. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has plans to ‘save’ the architecture by surrounding it with two large scale terminals, reducing it into a convention room, restaurant or flight museum.
