Bugbug is a picnic set to promote people eating insects as a meal for a large-scale food crisis predicted in forthcoming 2050. This product includes a set of cutlery, plates and a leather case for storing them. It is designed from the minds how people would be able to avoid being caused the food crisis and how people succeed food culture to next generations.

The target users are a family of 2020 and the people who are highly concerned with foods such as foodies. A movement relates to food crisis includes some events for avoiding food wastes and promoting entomophagy is the main target market. And also, competitors would be products for eating insects as a meal or its related products.

It is predicted the promotion via SNS from people who have interests for the entomophagy in the exhibition could be effective to get potential users and people’s concern for one of the future foods. It is expected to have the characteristic approach to head off the crisis to compare with other strategies. Moreover, the product is meaningful to be joyful for eating insects and stretch food culture.

The project has been presented at Designersblock, as part of the Bankside Design District (London Design Festival 2016).
