GarciaCumini: Spokes / 46

Made from steel rod, the lamp by Vicente Garcia Jimenez-Cinzia Cumini for Foscarini is based on looking at the movement of spokes on a bicycle.

Garcia-Cumini: Spokes
The hanging light designed by Vicente Garcia Jimenez and Cinzia Cumini for Foscarini and presented during Milan Design Week takes inspiration from ancient oriental lanterns and the more domestic birdcage.
Its creation emerges from looking at the spokes of a bicycle, hence the name Spokes.

The result is a lamp with a soft shape and a light volume that holds the light, allowing it to filter into space. The lightness that distinguishes the design is combined with the solidity of the form made from metal rod and the functionality of the LED bulb that enables both task lighting and effects of light and shade projected onto the wall with a magical effect of multiplication.
The production process used - bending metal rod - is suggested by the form itself of the lamp that also includes a small housing to conceal the light source and an innovative solution for concealing the electric cable.
