Cake’s first ebike is a heavy-duty cargo vehicle

Åik, a pedal-assisted electric bike with incredible battery life for such a vehicle, has been announced by the Swedish manufacturer of electric motorcycles and mopeds.

Cake is a well-known Swedish manufacturer that carved itself a name in the growingly competitive e-motorbike market. 
Now the company is branching out into pedal-assisted territory with the Åik, a new cargo bike designed for heavy-duty work in the city.

The Åik is designed specifically for professional use in delivery and logistics, so much so that Cake sells it as part of its :work family of bikes. It packs up to three parallel batteries for a total range of up to 360km (like a small EV car) and comes with a lot of storage space. The bike can be tailored with attachments and accessories to match the user's requirements. Despite its practical nature, the Åik is nonetheless built for comfort with adjustable seating, handlebars, and grips. It also includes a power bank feature that enables riders to charge their electronic devices on the move. Cake Åik starts at 6470€ with one battery, plus 780€ per additional battery unit. The first deliveries are expected for May 2023.
