At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai has introduced the SEVEN, a concept car that’s meant to preview its next-generation Ioniq 7 SUV, expected to hit the market in 2024. As usual with car concepts, Hyundai’s designers haven’t limited themselves to outlining the design philosophy behind the future SUV but have implemented exaggerated elements that won’t probably make it to the final version of the car.
“SEVEN has an aerodynamically pure silhouette instinctively divergent from a typical SUV,” says Hyundai in a press release. “The low, leading edge of the hood, a single, streamlined roofline, and elongated wheelbase communicate a clear break from traditional SUVs powered by internal combustion engines. The pure volume of SEVEN’s minimal forms contrast with the powerful stance and commanding, rugged presence”. What’s most peculiar about the SEVEN, though, is its lounge-style interior, with swiveling seats that can be repositioned in various combinations and pillarless coach doors that offer “a grand entrance” into the vehicle. The concept explores a possible alternative to row-based seats, with a new layout that’s more fluid and welcoming.
