Charity and Beauty at Palazzo Marino

From 2 December to 15 January 2023, the highly anticipated Christmas exhibition returns to the Alessi Hall of Palazzo Marino. Four masterpieces from the great masters Fra Angelico, Sandro Botticelli, Filippo Lippi and Tino di Camaino inaugurate the traditional Christmas event that the city of Milan offers to its many tourists and residents. “For the fourteenth edition of the Christmas exhibition at Palazzo Marino, Milan is offering its residents and tourists a new and fascinating project organised in collaboration with a number of museums in Florence, a city with which we collaborate extensively in artistic and cultural terms”, stated the councillor for Culture Tommaso Sacchi. “In addition to the exhibition in the Alessi Hall, which this year sees four masterpieces, we have chosen to take art throughout the city, creating an artistic exploration of Milan based on the theme of the exhibition. The result is beautiful, thanks to the close collaboration of the various districts and local libraries, which from 13 December will be opening their doors and offering a new cultural experience”.

The exhibition, entitled “Charity and Beauty”, will see Sandro Botticelli’s Madonna and Child, currently held at the Stibbert Museum in Florence; Adoration of the Magi by Fra Angelico, a precious tabernacle belonging to the San Marco Museum; the Madonna and Child from Palazzo Medici Riccardi by Filippo Lippi, and Charity, a sculpture by the Sienese Tino di Camaino from the Bardini Museum in Florence.
