Auction calendar

Once again this season, Milan offers a busy auction calendar, starting with the collections of Cambi Casa d’Aste and Il Ponte Casa d’Aste.

An interesting semester for collectors is about to commence: Milan, the Italian art market capital, presents an exciting auction calendar, opening with two very prestigious House Sales. Wednesday 5 October, in the Via San Marco 22 location, Cambi Casa d’Aste will auction off the collection of furniture and art objects from Villa Maser plus the wardrobe of the owner of the Palladian villa, Marina Volpi. Sales will continue on 11, 12 and 13 October in Via Pontaccio 12 at Il Ponte Casa d’Aste with a collection belonging to an important family from Modena that has chosen to remain anonymous. The selection includes artworks dating from the 17th to the 20th centuries, with fine paintings, sculptures, ceramics and silverware.

Milan will also host two unique appointments for antique book enthusiasts: L’Arte dell’anastatica (The Art of Anastatic Printing), 20-21 September, where reprints of antique illuminated manuscripts that can be admired only in major museums will be sold to collectors and history lovers. On 5 October it will be Finarte’s turn at Via Paolo Sarpi 8 with L’Arte di riprodurre codici (The Art of Reprinting Illuminated Manuscripts). Who will walk away with the finest false manuscript?
