Apple has just announced a new iPhone, most probably the first one ever announced without any sort of official event. It's the second iteration of iPhone SE, the smaller and low-cost model in Apple smartphone lineup. If the first iPhone SE looked really similar to an iPhone 5, this one looks like an iPhone 8 (which looked more or like iPhone 7 which looked like iPhone 6). There is no full-screen display and you won't find any kind of notch, but old fashioned bezels and a 4.7 display.
Just like with iPhone 8, there's a 7-megapixel front-facing selfie camera is , while on the back there's a single-lens camera, (single-lens!, that sounds old fashioned too), but Apple says that its 12-megapixel sensor can achieve really good results using its Smart HDR technology, which exploits the A13 Bionic chip onboard. There's also a portrait mode that with “monocular depth-sensing”, as Apple calls it. Video mode records up to 4K at 60fps.
The new iPhone SE supports WiFi 6, LTE, and dual-SIMs using an eSIMs and wireless charging. There's no Face ID, but Touch ID. Which could come easier if you're wearing a mask for the Coronavirus. Its starting price will be $399 in the US, and around 500 euros in Europe, with a full year subscription to Apple TV+ included. Preorders open on April 17th and shipping starts April 24th. Available in three colours: black, white and (Product)Red.
