Bike commutes are a great and sustainable habit, but they come with two main issues: sweat and fatigue. Nobody wants to show up for a meeting at ten drenched in sweat after a long bike ride under the sun. E-bikes solve this problem quite efficiently, but they aren’t cheap. Enter the CLIP, a new portable electric that can be clipped to any bike to help the rider climbing a steeper street or riding a longer stretch with ease. The device is a simple metal arm with a motor-driven wheel at the front. The arm attaches to the bike’s front fork, while the motorized wheel helps the front-wheel spin with an electric boost. The project, already funded on Kickstarter, is still in a prototyping phase. The company expects to unveil the first version of the product in July.
With CLIP every bike can become electric
This small portable motor can give an electric boost to any standard bike.
