After introducing its first lineup of smart objects in 2017, IKEA has kept on adding new products to its connected-home lineup. The next step in the company’s IoT strategy are the Fyrtur and Kadrilj motorized window blinds. The blinds can be controlled via a small remote. The motor relies on a (hopefully long-lasting) battery, therefore no electrical prowess is needed to install the blinds. To control them from Siri on your phone or to make them compatibile with Alexa and Google Home, you’ll need an additional item: IKEA’s Trådfri smart-home gateway. Based on the size, Fyrtur’s price will range from 129€ to 139€. Kadrilj, the non light-blocking version, starts at 109€, going up to 119€. The blinds are already available to preorder on IKEA’s German online store, but they’ll come to other countries in Europe starting from February.
