Between vineyards and snowy peaks: Duka, the South Tyrolean company 4.0

Established in 1979, Duka, a South Tyrolean company that produces high-end shower enclosures, turns 40 and opens a new plant designed by Kerschbaumer Pichler&Partner in Bressanone.

Like shining armour, the glass, aluminium and stainless steel of the facade attract the attention of those speeding down the nearby motorway – making a nod to the architecture of Zaha Hadid, it is to be appreciated while on the move – and conceals a  world governed by cutting-edge technology.

Entering the company headquarters gives access to a parallel universe in which robots, automated warehouses, intelligent trolleys and digitalised processes speed up the “just in time”, commission-only production.  2019 is also an important year for the expansion of the product range, with the launch onto the market of the Natura 4000 collection and new versions of the Gallery 3000 and Acqua 5000 lines.
