Wacom has launched a cheaper Cintiq

The Cintiq 16 is an entry class device for students, creatives and visual artists.

In the last few years, Wacom has reorganized its tablets and pen displays lineup, with two different lines: Intruos tablets for beginners and Cintiq pen displays for professionals. The new Cintiq 16 fills the gap, with a 599 euro price, and is designed for who may not require the advanced specs found in the Cintiq Pro devices, like a 4k display or a 90% Adobe RGB color gamut.

“We bring that same pen technology, build quality and know-how to those who previously have wanted it, but due to the emerging stage in their careers have perhaps not been able to afford Wacom’s full range of professional features,” says Faik Karaoglu, Executive Vice President of Wacom’s Creative Business Unit. The new pen display comes with Pro Pen 2 technology, with 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity and no recharge, a compact design and hardened cover glass with a paper-like feel.
