The Swedish company’s new computer–2 is a PC case made out of one single sheet of foldable plastic. Its production cost is so low that users can order it for free. Unsurprisingly, it’s already unavailable.

Teenage Engineering has launched a new small form factor PC case that’s part design experiment, part marketing stunt. The computer–2 is the follow up to the computer–1, a foldable aluminum case the company launched in 2021 and still sells for €99.

The computer-2 targets compact PC builds and can accommodate a mini-ITX motherboard, SFX power supply, and dual-slot graphics card up to approximately 180mm in length. All the components must be purchased separately.

The case incorporates plastic hinges and snap-fit connectors that allow it to fold into a robust PC enclosure with an integrated top handle for portability. Teenage Engineering provides detailed 18-step assembly guides on their website, and according to the company, the motherboard installation is simplified to a tool-free click-in process that eliminates the need for traditional screws or mounting hardware.

The $0 price tag has attracted a lot of attention, and of course the computer–2 is already “sold-out” on Teenage Engineering’s website. Users can leave their email to be notified when a new batch will be available to order.
