Leyja, Neom’s fifth area, will be dedicated to tourism and will house three luxury hotels

The three hotels by Cucinella, Killa, and van Duijn are nestled in an ancient valley surrounded by breathtaking rock formations.

Leyja, the fifth area of Neom, the Saudi megaproject comprising 10 regions with a total area of approximately 10,200 square miles, was unveiled. According to Neom, 95% of the landscape has been preserved in the area. It will host three luxury hotels designed by Mario Cucinella, Shaun Killa, and Chris van Duijn, each with 40 rooms and suites. Leyja is situated in a valley overlooked by striking mountains approximately 400 meters tall, which starts on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, and the hotels will be situated along a road that follows its topography.

The Adventure, by van Duijn, a partner at OMA, is composed of a series of stepped volumes clinging to the rock wall, forming terraces and cantilevered pools. Following that is the Oasis, by Cucinella, which at least from the initial renderings, in terms of surface treatment, recalls a reinterpretation of Frank Lloyd Wright’s textile blocks. The hotel juts vertically like an alien formation, yet it blends into the landscape, creating an extremely captivating effect. Finally, there is the Wellness, by Killa Design: two mirrored volumes facing each other, with an entire floor dedicated to well-being. All three hotels will have a rooftop pool.
