Bjarke Ingels Group has completed “One High Line”, the pair of towers in West Chelsea, which aim to represent a new landmark on the Hudson River skyline in New York. The project is located along Architecture Row, where visitors to the High Line can explore works by great architects such as Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel, and Renzo Piano.
The east tower is 300 feet high and houses 87 luxury residences and a Faena hotel; while the west tower reaches 400 feet and consists of 149 other residential units. The facades are in glass and travertine, while the game which defines the uniqueness of the composition concerns the geometries and shapes. The twist that characterizes the structure is in fact designed to optimize the view from every point, on Lower Manhattan, on the Hudson River, and on New Jersey. The interior was designed by Dan Fink, mixing vintage and contemporary design pieces.
