Range Rover, the brand that gave shape to the luxury off-road vehicle, presented the new Range Rover during the Design Week-end, from March 10 to 13 at the Chalet de l’Ange in Courmayeur.
The immersive exhibition “Materiality” allowed visitors to get to know the fifth generation of the model through a “material” path, also explaining the concept of “Modern Luxury” by dealing with innovation in materials, production processes and applied technologies able to promote social, environmental and economic values.
The new Range Rover aims at sustainability with innovative materials and processes: it includes a wool-blend fabric Kvadrat™ with leather-free option, which accompanies the technical material Ultrafabrics™, endowed with the tactile qualities of leather and characterized by reduced CO2 emissions.
There are also vegetable-based woven weaves, made from eucalyptus fibers, or ECONYL® nylon yarns, made from recycled plastic by Aquafil (a world leader in synthetic fibers). For the exterior, Satin Protective Aero Wrap, a solvent-free scratch protection technology, has been developed.
The new Range Rover offers a standard and long wheelbase, for the first time seven luxury seats and innovative technologies that make the cabin quiet. The sustainable essence finds its ultimate expression in the SV version, handcrafted by the Special Vehicle Operations division. Materials include polished plated metals, smooth ceramics, inlaid mosaics and semi-aniline leather for the embroidered seats. Ceramics and long-haired mohair carpets are used in the interior.
