Europe's largest green facade, an app for studying children's digital habits, a library immersed in nature, an extension of Braille language to translate emoticons: these are just some of the projects that have won awards at the Design Educate Awards, a competition promoting innovative architecture and product design projects around the world.
Beyond fashions or commercial success, the participants in the competition all try to have a positive impact on the world, tackling topics of universal relevance: from pollution in metropolises and our relationship with nature to the diversity of abilities, from the hybridisation of the physical and virtual worlds to the recovery of abandoned industrial heritage. More than 500 participants from 176 cities, 35 countries and 5 continents entered the Design Educate Awards. The 40 members of the international jury selected 80 winning projects.
