Meta is launching a new app, this time aimed at those who love to produce and share video content. First announced back in January, Edits is a new free tool that lets users shoot and edit videos directly from their smartphones, offering full support for the entire creative process in one place: from capturing footage to editing, all the way to exporting the final product.
In fact, it allows for recordings up to 10 minutes long, precise clip trimming by selecting the best frame, automatic image optimization, and the application of filters and effects such as green screen, titles, and transitions — all without needing external apps. Moreover, all videos can be exported and shared not only on Instagram and Facebook but on any other platform as well.

Thanks to ongoing collaboration with creators since last year, Meta’s team has developed the app based on feedback and suggestions, ensuring it includes the most requested features from frequent video makers. For instance, users can access data-driven insights and receive real-time feedback on factors affecting distribution and engagement, helping them understand what works best and what to produce next.
According to the announcement, Edits is already available for free on iOS and Android. Future updates will include new fonts, filters, and royalty-free music options, features for even more precise clip assembly, and the ability to collaborate with friends and other creators by sharing video drafts.
