In recent decades, urban planning has undergone a radical transformation on a global scale. The symbiotic integration of digital infrastructures, artificial intelligence, and data analytics has redefined the very concept of the city, shaping new spaces that are increasingly sustainable, efficient, and adaptable to citizens' needs. But what will the future of smart cities look like? How can we prevent future cities from turning into non-places devoid of identity?
These and many other topics will be discussed on April 11 at 18:30 pm, at the RNLT Store in Milan, during the Domus talks event titled “Quale smart city ci attende. Tra intelligenza progettuale e non luoghi”. This will be a moment of dialogue among experts to reflect on how technology and urban design can collaborate to shape intelligent yet livable metropolises, capable of consciously preserving their social and cultural fabric.
The event, organized by Domus in collaboration with Renault on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, will feature architects Floriana Marotta from Mab Architecture and Claudio Saverino from Vudafieri Saverino Partners. Together with Vittorio D’Arienzo, Product Global Leader at Ampere (Renault Group), they will discuss the opportunities, challenges, and questions raised by the spread of smart cities, both from a cultural and design perspective. The discussion will be moderated by Walter Mariotti, Editorial Director of Domus.
