Around trees and fire

Kunsthal Aarhus and Kvadrat are presening a new art collaboration with French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec who designed a site-specific installation in the park of the Danish museum.

The outdoor scene is called OUI, and is made of three different elements that act as informal meeting points for guests. The platforms have many different uses for various moments. They act as large collective benches and provide a place for meeting or relaxing in the middle of the city. The first platform takes the form of a large ring suited for sitting, with a lamp. Just like a light point or lighthouse, it helps guiding people into a coloured cloud. The second typology is installed around a tree. It concretizes the dialogue and relationship between nature and people seated around.

The last element consists of a large circle with a fireplace in its centre: a place where people can huddle around the embers. The idea is to take fire to the heart of the city as a reminder of gathering around bonfires. Contemplating the flames gives rise to moments of collective interaction and daydreaming.
