The site is located on a mountain slope, facing the Pacific Ocean. It takes half-hour to reach the site by car from Miyazaki city center. The building hosts a hotel and a restaurant, surrounded by a natural environment. Himematsu Architecture renovated a part of the existing facility at the entrance of the site. The building has a double wall, with an exterior wood wall with ellipse holes. The “porousness” of the facade protects visitors’ privacy by blocking visual lines from the street underneath, but still preserving an astonishing view from the interior.
