The property – dating back to the early 60s – is located in the centre of the design district of Lambrate. The internal organisation was completely restructured to suit modern needs and the client brief. The apartment is built upon a carefully measured sequence of spaces distributed along a generous hallway that connects the entrance to the apartment with its outdoor terrace.

A wall-like system of built-in furniture – simultaneously accessible from the corridor, the living room and the kitchen – divides and connects the main spaces of the house. While the main living area remains open to the corridor via two portals within the mass of the furniture, a system of sliding panels allows for different degrees of intimacy and connection with the bedrooms, the bathrooms and the kitchen.
The furniture is made of light grey birch wood. The floor is covered with oak planks. The bathrooms are clad with grey glass tiles. The geometrical precision of the design and the simplicity of the materials define an abstract and calm environment, allowing for unexpected freedom of movement and appropriation.
