For the new Icelandic Telecom flagship store in Reykjavik, HAF Studio created a warm and homey atmosphere, with open and flexible mobile units.

The design brief for Síminn flagship store in Reykjavik was to create a new undefined space where guests can experience the products in a lively and inviting environment.

In the store, HAF Studio created a warm and homey atmosphere, where one can try Síminn products in their real life setting, sit on a sofa and explore home theatre options or have coffee at the bar and browse the latest computer tablet.

The main idea behind the ground plan is that all units are open and flexible. All work base units are mobile so the staff can move around in the space and choose the workstation suitable at each time. The backup storage is located in cabinets fixed to structural walls. All cabinets have electronic access. This makes the work flow easy for the staff and they never have to leave the customer that is vital.

The most important thing in the design brief was that the store was interchangeable and space could be adopted to various occasions and happenings. That’s why all floor displays have wheels so for example the store can be changed into a conference room in 10 minutes.

Founded in 1906 Síminn has kept Iceland connected for over a century. Síminn provides communication solutions to private and corporate clients in Iceland. Síminn offers a range of services for the home, whether for mobile, home phones, Internet connections or television.

In this modern-day technology society,  Síminn – Icelandic Telecom believes that it has never been as important to have a physical space that represents the brand in positive way with good service and customer experience.

Síminn sells intangible products such as minutes and gigabytes so HAF Studio’s task was to make these products accessible and present them in a engaging way.

You can say that brand image has been re-created in the interior space with strong colours, sharp forms and clear messages that are well known in the brand identity of the company.

The material board is composed of white stained Ash & Pine, Colored Glass, Concrete & Felt. All furniture and lighting are Scandinavian.
