Tyyni mirror

Taking her country’s clean and wild nature as inspiration, the Finnish designer Maija Puoskari developed a mirror that seems to reflect the mountains.

Finland’s most famous mountain Saana and the lake Kilpisjärvi were the inspiration for this work presented by Maija Puoskari at SaloneSatellite during Milan Design Week.

The place has been the designer’s annual vacation spot for many years. Now she has managed to capture those views in the mirror. The idea was to make a functional piece of art.

The mirror concept is called Tyyni (Calm, Serene) and it comes in multiple variations of mirror colours and mountain silhouettes. Mountains Saana and Malla are the variations in this set. And by the way, the small rock on the shelf is from the top of Saana (1,029 m).
