Designed specifically for the hospitality sector, the Astera range of lights by Claesson Koivisto Rune for FontanaArte attempts to address a recurring issue for architects and designers: placing furniture, lamps and objects in a harmonious fashion with respect to the surrounding environment.

The pentagonal shape of Astera enables it to placed almost anywhere, the form has been perfected and personalised with a distinctive rounded finish to its pentagonal shape.
The base and shade have the characteristic pentagonal form that makes it easier to place in corners. The plastic-polymer shade is also translucent and emits light enhanced by refractive effects while the base and stem are in metal. The name Astera is derived from the Ancient Greek Astron that means "star", as the lamp resembles a distant star with its slightly prismatic form.
